About Slate
Slate is a fine grained, foliated metamorphic rock that has been used as a hard landscaping product for centuries. Its laminar nature makes it easy to cleave and work with and is quarried to form smooth flat sheets of stone.
Combining slate with other materials emphasises the qualities and attractiveness of both. Slate can be used effectively to form a break band in larger areas of natural stone. The dark, neutral tones of the slate accentuate the warmer colours of the feldspars and quartzes in the granite.
Why Use Slate?
This dense, low maintenance material has a number of ideal properties including:
- Hard Wearing
- Outstanding Durability
- Stain Resistant
With it’s unique soft texture, subtle colours and substantial lifespan, slate will improve with age along with your hard landscaping project.
